"Of all the types of creative work, writing an essay presents the greatest difficulties and problems for students."
This is due to the fact that in the text the author must express his own opinion on the problem under consideration. If, when writing a test or a report, it is enough just to list several points of view of authoritative authors on a particular topic and interpret them, then when writing an essay from a student, you are required to present your own vision of the issue being studied. The fact that the essay should be formulated by the author's own point of view, and represents the greatest problems when writing it. This problem is particularly relevant for first-year students. At the initial stage of training, the students' own point of view on this or that problem is either not yet formed, or is in the formative stage, therefore, writing an essay is fraught with certain difficulties.
The problem of the student’s substantiation of his own point of view often coexists with the problem of the mismatch of his vision of the issue with the teacher’s opinion. For example, when writing an essay on the history of the United States of America, the most acute, problematic periods of history appear as themes. Which teacher and student due to the established ideological attitudes, worldview and other factors can look and see each in their own way.
When writing an essay, the student’s point of view may not coincide with the teacher’s point of view on the period in question, which sometimes creates problems for the student with passing the test, the exam, or receiving a positive result. Often, students, knowing about those or other preferences of the teacher, when writing an essay, “adapt” to his point of view at the expense of their own position, show other types of conformism to get the desired result. Such an approach does not contribute to the correct formation of the students 'scientific outlook, so the correct, tolerant perception of the students' individual points of view is of great importance for resolving this problem.
It must be borne in mind that writing an essay requires the author not only to have his own point of view, but also to be able to formulate and substantiate it. Often, due to the limited vocabulary, the inability of students to formulate their thoughts, creative work becomes a meaningless and unrelated text.
A lot of controversial issues arise in the design of the structure of work. Often when writing an essay, teachers require its standard design with the presence of the introduction, the main part, the conclusion. This is not always acceptable. An essay implies the free expression of one's point of view in the form of a free composition, and it is not always possible to build it in accordance with the strict structure of writing.
As with the writing of other types of works, the essay is characterized by problems associated with its design. These problems include the inability of students to correctly draw up a footnote, a bibliographic list. To fulfill these conditions, it is sufficient to carefully read the materials of the guidelines.
When writing creative works, the most important thing is not to be afraid of the arising difficulties, but to solve them methodically and gradually.
